Our Story
Just try!!
We started the club with an idea to just try and see where it would lead us to with no goals or expectations.
In the first few years we have noticed the potential of some of our members and we started setting some higher goal to the club.
It was a long way from offering Judo classes in a shared space to moving to our own location where we could focus in teaching the principles of Judo.
We overcame many challenges along the way but we are very thankful for each one of them. It taught us how to become stronger and made us learn from our own mistakes.
Today we are the biggest Judo Club in the province and we are proud of our team members’ achievements.
We are very thankful for everyone that is part of our big Judo Family and we always look forward to what’s coming up next.

What is Judo?
Olympic Sport
Judo (“gentle way”) is a martial art and Olympic sport.
History
created in 1882 in Japan by Professor Jigoro Kano. It is derived from jujitsu, and consists of throwing techniques and ground techniques (including pins, chokes, and armlocks).
Principals
Two principles: seiryoku zenyo, or “maximum efficiency, minimum effort”, and jita kyoei, “mutual welfare and benefit”.
Not allowed
While strikes and use of weapons are included in some pre-arranged forms (kata), they are not frequently trained and are illegal in judo competition or free practice.
