He was born and raised in Brazil and started his judo life at the early age of eight.

Judo training, like school and farm work, became an integral part of his life, and his dedication to helping others on their judo journeys persists to this day. He is a coach, mentor and good friend to his judo family.

He immigrated to Canada in 2006 and started his own Winnipeg club – Nakamura Judo – in 2012.

After spending a few years as a Provincial Assistant Judo Coach, he became the Provincial Head Coach in 2019.
